Both Apple and Samsung are the technological marvel and are always competing with each other for being the best. Apple is known for Innovation while Samsung is known to adapt things quickly. The most recent device of both the companies is the iPhone X from Apple which was released in November 2017 which is truly an engineering masterpiece and the Galaxy S9+ from Samsung which was released in March 2018 and is in the hype after its launch.
Let us see which one got the upper hand
#1 The design

#2
Under the hood

iPhone x comes packed with the A11 Bionic chip which is also the smartest chip in any of the Apple device and packs a 3GB of RAM, available in 64GB and 256GB variant. Where the Galaxy S9+ comes with 4GB of RAM and is available in a 64GB 128GB and a 256GB variant.
#3
Performance

If we talk about performance Apple has been on top every time and iPhone x geekbench scores are phenomenal, the phone will never hang even if you keep 32 applications open at the same time and will always resume each application from where you left it. On the other hand, Samsung S9+ geekbench scores are quite lower as compared to the iPhone x and the phone gives a lag while heavy gaming.
#4
The Notch

iPhone x was trolled on its released because of the notch on the top in the design which Apple has specifically kept for its Face recognition feature, the Galaxy S9+ does not have a Notch which makes it look big, the bezels on S9 are also thinner as compared to the iPhone x.
#5
Camera

the iPhone x is packed with dual lens 12Mp primary and a 12MP secondary telephoto camera at the back and has a 7Mp front-facing camera both equipped for Portrait photography. On the other hand, the S9+ also comes with dual lens 12Mp primary and a 12MP secondary telephoto camera and has an 8MP front-facing camera which supports portrait photography as well.
#6
Video

Both the phones are packed with impressive video recording capabilities and can record at 4K at 30ps (X) and 60ps (S9), the S9+ has an added advantage as it can record Super Slow-mo videos at 960fps and the iPhone can record only at 240fps.
#6
Waterproofing

If you are paying such a huge amount of money to purchase a new phone you will expect this feature, both the iPhone X and the S9+ comes with fully waterproof and has a rating of IP67 (X) and IP 68 (S9+), don't worry about your cool in the pool videos they got this covered, however Samsung S9+ has a higher rating as compared to the iPhone X.
#7
Security

Apple has this time removed the classic Fingerprint sensor and has introduced Face unlock in iPhone x which allows the user o unlock their phone just by looking at the phone, Apple claims that the chances of this failing is 1 in Billion and is true, this feature works in any light conditions, even when you are in total darkness. The S9 has various security options to choose from which includes the Fingerprint unlock, face unlock and a combination of both, but Samsung suggests the users not to use the face recognition feature as they claim that it may fail and the fingerprint sensor is way safer than that.
#8
Display type

The display on both the phones is simply mesmerizing the iPhone X comes with the 5.8 inches Super AMOLED display with 1125*2436 pixels and an 82.9% screen to body ratio. While the S9+ comes with the Super AMOLED display with 1440*2690 pixels and an 84.2% screen to body ratio.
But the iPhone x has a feature which was earlier introduced in the iPhone 6s and all the devices after that called 3D touch, its beautiful and has some amazing benefits, the Galaxy S9 lacks that.
#9
Sound

Both the iPhone x and the Galaxy S9+ comes with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 and Dual Stereo speakers which are best in the class as well as the industry. The iPhone x does not have the traditional 3.5 mm audio jack where the Galaxy S9+ is still maintaining the tradition and has a 3.5mm audio jack enabled at the bottom of the phone.
#10
iOS

This is also one of the reasons why people buy iPhone. If you are an App and game lover you should simply choose the iPhone x as the iOS allows you more liberty in the app-quality and selection of apps specially designed for the iPhone x.
#11
Battery

The iPhone x is packed with a Non-removable Li-Ion 2716 mAh battery (10.35 Wh) while the Galaxy S9 is packed with a Non-removable Li-Ion 3500 mAh battery (13.48 Wh), the standby time on both is equally amazing with a full day battery life in a full charge, the S9+ might be able to give you 1 hr of extra time but that depends on the usage, also the S9+ comes with a fast charger out of the box which is needed for its fast charging feature. You have to buy this fast charge adapter additionally if you are choosing the iPhone x.
#11
Price

You know Apple is really famous for keeping the price of its devices high and like always the price of iPhone x starts at $1000 for the 64GB variant and the price of Galaxy S9+ starts at $840 for the 64GB variant.
The Conclusion

If you are looking for a spec upgrade, super slow videography, better waterproofing standards, headphone jack and out of the box fast charging, I would suggest you go for the S9+

If you are an Apple fan and looking for more processing power and a tight security on your phone rather than more security options and an Apple status go with the iPhone x.

Also if you have invested in the Apple Ecosystem, which means you have all the Apple devices and are a regular Apple user where you like all your devices to connect seamlessly with your other Apple device, I would strongly recommend the iPhone x.
Here the S9+ wins if we take all the above parameters into consideration.
